I have a M7 SS with a rear action screw that is starting to get a little buggared up. I've looked the places I know and cany find the stainless action screws in stock. No luck at the hardware store either. I think the rear is 8-36 x 2ish" and it has an allen head. Front is 1/4-28 but it's ok.

Anyone have a lead?

Thanks I just checked and it doesn't appear they have them either. Brownells, Midway, Numrich, Midsouth....all out.

Here is one close. 8-36x 1 3/4". screw miles

Look out for number 1, don't step in number 2.

McMaster has some screws that might work. If need be, get stronger alloy steel and use a bit of dull aluminum spray paint on the head.

Boltdepot.com has what you need.

1 3/4", 2", or 2 1/2"

If you need to grind it to exact length just buy a matching nut to use as a squareness guide and to clean up the starting thread after grinding

Edit- brain fart on my part, theirs are 8-32

May be the only option at this point. Or drill it out and tap to 1/2-28 like the front. I think that's a fairly popular modification. Thanks for the suggestions and if anyone knows of a source for the original ones let me know.
