Every so often I will take a shower.
That is all. I've heard lanolin from handling them fuzzy critters works wonders. Not when they are full of burdock! will they eat that down when green? Less burrs later in the year if they do. Oh, yeah. Like candy.

I'd grow a beard if it didn't itch so bad and Gabby Hayes wasn't staring at me in the mirror after a few months.
But I've had a porn mustache since about 1975 so I got that going for me

If you have "bearddruff," dryness/brittleness, I believe a good quality beard oil is your best bet. I can certainly "wash & go," but my beard looks like hell if I do so. I hate the fact that I have to care for my beard, but it's better than having to shave all the time.
You'll probably read that you need to use beard shampoo, which I think is a crock and just another way to get you to spend money on products. I just wash normally with soap, I don't use any special products, but sometimes I will use tar shampoo on it to help control the dryness. I then dry it lightly with a towel then comb it out. I then use a round brush to blow dry it straight (I resent the hell out of having to use a blow-dryer because it's F'n gay). My beard is about 4" long and curly and if I skip this step, it shrinks up and looks terrible. Once it's straight and dry, I use about 10-12 drops of unscented quality beard oil and work it in by running my fingers up through the beard. I really dislike scents, so I always look for unscented (I plan to try straight 30 weight motor oil next.) Then, I shape it again with my hands and comb it out again, if necessary. If you want, you can then put a bit of that scented bag-balm that you ordered on, but just a bit to hold the shape.
Sounds like a PITA and it is, but the whole process can be done in a few minutes once you get it down.
Trimming is another issue, entirely.

Get you some fat and some lye and some other stuff and make real soap.
Use that on your hair and body and what not.

Trimming is another issue, entirely. Thanks for info! No beardruff, the skin seems ok, just the hair coarse and dry as hell. The stuff I posted I bought is supposed to be thicker than oil, but not a balm. Balm has wax in it, the butter does not. So no hold. My beard soaks it right up, and maybe thats what it needs. But like I said im using it 3 times a day. First time I used it I over did it, bigtime! Put a nickel sized drop in my hand and rubbed til it turned into oil, holy schitt! WAY too much. I wont say schitt about blow drying. I had to buy one of those beard straighteners to get a cowlick out on the right side. Left was straight as hell right had a wave you wouldnt believe! Overall my beard looks good now, except for days where I must wear a mask which is murder on my beard, huge dent! lol. But other than that its good, except for dryness. Might have to give beard oil a try and see if its any different than the butters. Thanks again!

Dems now claiming bearded men are white supremacists and beards are spreading Covid 19. Now officially deemed terrorists.

Terrorist? Why, do I look terroristic? Hey, It ain't every body that can pull off a snow shovel and camo shorts.! Three days earlier, out in the yard doin' scheidt, 23 F, a few degrees colder than the snow pic, so no need for a hoody and snow boots. But of course, the sun is shining!

Yep, clearing paths so the dogs don't just scheidt whereever they want in the snow, so it melts in and gets hidden, only to be stepped on later.
That is certainly a terrorist action.
Our local cabal meets down the street on Tues night too.,
