There's quite a few variations, kind of taking a shot in the dark not knowing what you actually have.

Assuming it's a standard sporter walnut/blued model? I'd guess $5-650. Prices on used guns seems to be going crazy right now,

Add $150 if black fore end tip and pencil barrel which means it’s a 77RL
If it has open sights that’s more valuable also

I have a 99% 77R with some really nice walnut from 1978, it would take $850.00 to get it delivered to your FFL. Prices will only increase after January 20th.

To answer some questions 20 inch barrel blued and walnut stock no black forearm and no iron sights, end of barrel measures .529

That barrel sounds ultralight proportioned to me. The M77RL Ultralight was introduced in 1984 though. Some photos may be in order to figure this out.
What is the serial number 2 digit prefix?

Easy to tell if it's an ultralight. The ultralight barrel has a short shank, and the shank is not long enough for the barrel caliber designation. The barrel designation for an ultralight will be forward of the shank on the barrel. If the barrel designation is on the shank, the barrel was a standard barrel has been cut back to 20"s. 72-xxxxx is a late 1976 - 1977

To answer some questions 20 inch barrel blued and walnut stock no black forearm and no iron sights, end of barrel measures .529 I`m pretty sure the early Ultra lights did not have the black fore end tip.

What about a tang safety 338 win mag with sights. Lots of honest wear but a good functioning boom stick!

If it's a paddle stock that the guy survived in Alaska with and killed grizzlies with that stock and paddled a 1000 miles it's worth zillions .Thats the guy that started the collectors story about these stocks Ruger made for $12 and they are terrible shooting stocks and not good paddles or will not kill a grizzly !

elkhunter1945.. I've looked through the "Reference of Ruger firearms" and as 3dtestify mentioned, I can't find an Ultralight before 1984. Run your SN throught thr Ruger SN look up and see what they say...... https://ruger.com/dataProcess/serialHistory/
