Just bedded my first McMillan on a Rem 700, and it turned out great for my first bedding job. Learned a lot on here to give me the courage to do it.

Now, I was smoothing out some excess bedding and removing some clay from the recesses and noticed that a fair amount of bedding had run into the action screw holes. From reading on here, I saw where a 5/16 bit was used to remove the excess and ensure the screws essentially "float" without touching the sides. Well, the rear screw hole turned out flawlessly, but on the front I got a little off and the bottom of the hole is slightly out of round.

Everything bolts together perfectly, and the screws are not binding on anything - Should I even be worried with this? I know I'll never see it and if it's functionally OK, then I'm cool with it. Am I worrying unnecessarily?

It'll be fine as is, but if it really worried ya, you could put acraglass gel, or whatever you used to bed with in the first place in, and redrill it, but it would just be for cosmetic purposes.
