I don't carry pliers around with me, but I have a number of different sizes, types and configurations of pliers and cutters. They're all Knipex.

The thing about the offset plyers, they grip the hex heads squarely, they don't round off the edges. Sort of...if you want a plier type tool for turning nuts and bolts check out the Knipex Plier Wrench. Smooth, none-marring jaw surfaces that are articulated to remain parallel over their range of movement. They can rachet as well and can put way more torque on a nut or hex head than a pair of waterpump pliers or crescent wrenches. They aren't as good as a true wrench (box end, open end or socket) but on machinery they will often fit in spots the others won't and provide a range of sizes in one tool. Like others have said above me, after you've used Knipex Cobras, you'll look down at any other slipjoint'ish pliers.
Haven't used the Knipex Plier Wrench that cra just linked to, but can't imagine they'd be bad either.
