What is it? I seem to remember you can safely reduce to 60 percent of minimum charge weight?
I am continually astounded at how quickly people make up their minds on little evidence or none at all. Jack O'Connor

60% of max If loading hunting loads, take into account the impact velocity and make sure you don’t go below the fps recommended by the bullet mfg. I often drop down 20-30 gr on bullet weight and aim for a reduced load that is only 200-300 fps muzzle velocity below my normal full fat bullet gives. This is the best combination of recoil reduction (approx 1/2) and still maintains the required min velocity.

Thanks. I have a bunch of 308cal 130HP and a bunch of H4895 so thought for kicks I would dust off Grandpa's Model 54 and punch some paper. If I get really ambitious I might even try to find a 30cal mould and some gas checks.

Sounds like you have a plan. Reduced loads are fun to shoot.
