I'm exploring mounting options for a 6x42 SWFA scope that I'm planning to put on a .243 Tikka. I know people have had success with using Sportsmatch medium rings, and other folks are using low SWFA rings with a rail. I like to get the scope low, but I'm not sure how low I can go with such a large windage turret (I'd rather not put a rubber cap on it for now).

Are there any other options out there I should be considering? What is the lowest you've been able to mount the SWFA fixed scopes without having brass hit the windage turret?

Mount height is but one facet and I'd not get tunnel vision. Ring spacing is a scope's BEST friend and rates a serious thunk. Hint.

The 6x MQ houses HUGE erector travel and the Teeker 243 is horrid, given it's 10" RPM,so the reticle alone(10 Mil's) will getcha' to the Transonic Slip of everything it will stabilize,in my atmosphere. Most folks get to shoot far more favorable atmospherics, which obviously don't hurt performance and hopefully your's grants same. Hint.

1913 and Chicken low's for me,due ring spacing alone.

Hint.................

On the "bright" side for them however,Imagination and Pretend are free,so they can "afford" to "contribute"...the "lucky" kchunts. Hint.

His deflection is topped only by his ability to move the goalposts faster than Speedy Gonzales on an 80's Saturday morning.......

It is more than a touch fhuqking HILARIOUS,that them who can NOT begin to "do" for themselves, get to think about me oh so many times a day and "flaunt" The Sweet "Satisfactions" of their Imaginations and Pretend, while "living" vicariously...the "lucky" kchunts. Hint. Congratulations?!?

Iconic LEGENDARY wares, are etched into their pea brains for Eternity and that humor never fhuqking wanes,in it's Magnificent Grandeur. Hint. LAUGHING!

Bless their poor poor(literally) hearts, for Whining though.

Now what were the "odds",that The Crying Karens couldn't muster said rifle, said scope or even a camera,if only for "starters"...the "lucky "kchunts". Hint. Congratulations?!?

Fortunately for you "hard chargers",Imagination and Pretend are free,so you can "afford" to "contribute". Hint. LAUGHING!

Pardon LEGENDARY Iconic wares, consuming your EVERY "thought" and "move",though it isn't like you could "do" for yourselves. hint. fhuqking LAUGHING!

Back to the OPs question... My son has a SS 3x9 on a Tikka 243. We used Warne vertical rings on it and they have worked well.I know that it has been discussed that vertical rings may be hard on scopes internals, and that may be true, but I haven't had any trouble with it. We dial alot to 5, and 600yds. I plan on getting a Tikka 308, and when I do, I am going to put a rail on it with Burris Zee rings. I have had good luck with this set up as well.

I didn't do that well this year.

[Linked Image from u.cubeupload.com]

Still bigger than the "fabulous fork" though.

No dialing. Just used Kentucky windage, since it was maybe 10-12 yards......

Not quite "fabulous fork" good, but good nonetheless....

Nothing as fhuqking HILARIOUS,as Professional "Victims" frantically filling out their Hurt Feeler Reports, while "flaunting" their Imagination and Pretend...the "lucky" kchunts. Hint. Congratulations?!?

Mighta' been a "fluke" with dangling said image,as that scope puked, rings puked and barrel was shot out,in no particular fhuqking order. The "hard charging" Crying Karens, really "get after it" and can almost "afford" a camera between them. ALMOST. Hint. LAUGHING!

Ooooopsie!

[Linked Image from imagizer.imageshack.com]

How come my words are soooooooo fhuqking POWERFUL,so as to scar Crying Kchunts for their version of "life" and to fuel their EVERY "thought" and "move",while granting the gals opportunity to corroborate that Imitation is THE most Sincere form of Flattery? They are only FORCED to steal pictures, words and punctuation. Hint. fhuqking LAUGHING!

Bless their poor poor(literally) hearts, for Crying and Trying.

Hint.

LAUGHING!.....................
