Perfect.

I have an 8 x 56 on a Ruger Scout with a 16.5" barrel that works good in low light. I like it a lot.

A more versatile setup would be something like a 1.5 x 6 x 42 like I have on another carbine or others around that range mentioned here.

I like the Vortex Viper 2 X 7 BDC sadly they have been discontinued, hold zero and adjustments work!

I just mounted a Weaver Classic 3-9X in Talley LW's on my recently acquired Mauser M12 308 Win. I hope it all works on it's maiden voyage tomorrow. Cheap rifle, cheap scope, cheap mounts.

4x leupold or Kahles

I use a S&B 1.5-6x50 for hunting. Don’t worry about shooting in low light.

All of my .308’s wear a 3-9x40...Zeiss, Meopta, Leupold’s.

My 1 model 7 is a .243 and it wears a Leupold fixed 4x.

My 308 is fitted with a 2016 model Leupold VX-1 3-9x40 and it's a damn fine scope.

Small rifle = small scope. I use a VX2 2-7 on my 308.It's one of my favourite small scopes.
