It’s a long shot, but does anyone have any feedback on the Spyderco Waterway? LC200n steel that is essentially corrosion proof (like H1) but holds an edge much better than H1. Waterway

Mostly fishing. I would also use it as a general purpose knife when camping, which is usually fishing centric for me. I don’t baton wood or pry helicopter doors open with my knife. I also don’t live near the salt, although I may fit in a trip this summer.
The steel is interesting but I don’t really *need* the level of corrosion resistance that it provides. I’ve got more knives than I need now. I am mostly interested in the knife from the ergonomics and design side. From what I read I assume the steel is a bit better than VG10 and worse than S30V in terms of edge retention. The sheath is also interesting to me. It looks slim and has a lot of adjustability, including IWB with a pair of trunks or shorts when you aren’t wearing a belt.

Since you seem to want it "just because", go for it. I've read some good things about LC200N but have no direct experience with it.

I did use a lot of words to say...”just because”. They are out of stock everywhere right now, so I suppose I may get lucky and have that “just because” feeling pass before they come back in stock.

I like spyderco...but for that much I'd just by a busse or a swamprat and have a bullet proof fixed blade.

WaterwayFor that money, or thereabouts, you could get a custom from Godogs57 that would be built from scratch to your specifications with better steel (and edge) and be a hell of a lot better knife. Hank's knives are tough as nails, are beautiful, and cut like a razor.

And we haven't got to michiganroadkill's knives yet.
I would never buy a fixed blade factory manufactured knife before I talked to these 2 guys.
