New SAA .45 inbound, new leather is a must, always been a Threepersons fan, thinking a nice floral carved piece from El Paso would be nice. Anyone care to share thoughts on their ideal single action rigs, photos are always welcome.

I like my El Paso rig. Simple. No flowers and such. This model is meant to nearly duplicate what John Wayne wore in most of his Westerns. Everything you need, and nothing you don't.

I was lucky enough to get a border stamped holster from Karla of Purdy Gear a while back. It is a hybrid style of mountainman/slimjim that she makes with a ridiculously comfortable 2.5” wide cotton webbing belt in the old US Cavalry style. It slips in perfectly, does not rattle at all, AND does not grab front when yanking the gun out. It’s a really great rig that looks almost like a minimalist slipper holster. I never really understood what the big deal was about regarding custom leather and the ridiculous money people are willing to pay. This rig is my only one and I do understand.

Been partial to El Paso for over 20 years now, currently have one 1930 Austin, one Duke rig and 3 Threepersons, definitely leaning towards sticking with what I know works for me and that’s another El Paso Threepersons. Just curious what others are using/like.

I like making my own. Suede lined my last two for Ruger 357 & 44.
Like Don said, I like stamped patterns.

I have a couple El Paso Threepersons holsters for S&W's, but they don't excite me much anymore. Threepersons holsters just look klunky to me. Way too much extra material hangin' underneath the barrel. If you put a snap strap on it, they're pretty inconveniently positioned. I would personally prefer a more traditional Western type holster for a single action gun.

No sir. I have no talent. The basket job is an old Lawrence and the floral is an old Heiser
