I have a Remington 870 police model that a friend gave me, and I am looking for a Magazine spring, spring retainer, plug, and mag tube cap, because I want to be able to convert it for hunting. It came from the factory with a mag extension and long spring, where the mag extension functions as the mag tube cap and spring retainer. Brownells and MGW are both out of all of these, not sure where else to look. Surely the bankruptcy thing hasn’t made parts nonexistant?

You could make a long magazine plug out of a dowel to convert it to less capacity.

Didn’t think of Numrich either. Used to have their catalogues years ago, figured they were probably long gone, I guess. Will check them and Wolff. Thanks!
Edit. Got the spring coming from Wolff. Thank you.

OldGreyWolf;
I've got an 870 Police special with the 18-1/2" barrel, and full length mag. tube.
To put a hunting barrel on it, I had to have a spacer made to get the barrel nut to lock down on the mag tube.
The spacer is aprox. 7" long. Seems like it cost me about $25. to have a 'smith make it, and cold blue it.
I bought a 28" camo. vent rib barrel W/screw in chokes for it,
Works great, it's a little front heavy, but that helps it "swing" better.

Hmmm. Mine had a mag extension that replaced the mag tube cap. Factory gun. Wonder if they changed style somewhere along the line. I removed the mag extension, mag tube looks to be normal 870 length.
Between Wolff, Numrich, and CDNN, I have all the parts incoming, somwe shall see,

Mine came from the factory with the full length mag tube, not an extension.
You wont need to build a spacer.
This might be good information for someone else who needs a spacer.
