GM and Chevy trucks are dinosaurs. I test drove a Duramax, Cummins , and Powerstroke in the 3/4 ton lines. The Duramax was an easy pass . The overall truck is just bad and lags behind in options and tech.

Dealer service dept. reputation would be high on the list of things to consider between the 2. Our Chevy dealer in town has an absolutely awful service dept. It's not the cost, it's that they don't fix things on the 1st trip. We're talking about late model fleet vehicles that I don't see a bill for, just fix it. After having 2 Chevy fleet vehicles, I'd not own a Chevy where I live on my own dime simply due to service. Buddy of mine lives 200Mi away and they got an Escalade for his wife. The Cadillac dealer's service dept was positively horrid.

I'm quite certain there's awful service dept's for every brand, and some really good ones too. If I were buying 3 brand new vehicles, I'd want to know that I was also buying excellent service.

I would never buy a Toyota or a Ford. The local dealer is positively incapable of making a deal or servicing what he sells. Gas mileage poor to boot and the colors of the cars are drab and unimaginative.

Can you swap in an electric motor when they stop making parts for gas ones?

That. But if GM is a must, ensure the deal covers lifetime supply of daylight running bulbs... laugh laugh

Same thing here as far as cocksuker dealership.

Still better than driving a jap vehicle though.

If China broke into the US car market half the campfire would swear by them being amazing.

Don't know what percentage of time you will be towing, but if the new 6.2 liters are the same as the previous 6.2 liters, damn good engines but you will be buying 93 octane gasoline at $.40 to $.60 higher a gallon all the time.

Why would a fool buy a $75,000 to $85,000 vehicle with a 11:1 compression ration and be too cheap to use the fuel recommended by the manufacturer? If you buy new and get a Lifetime motor and drivetrain warranty and the vehicle's computer logs all valve ping and O2 emissions, why risk using 87 octane?

Chevy is cheaper to insure than GMC. No idea why, but that’s how it is here.
