Good old radio had a public service announcement today where: "to save the planet" turn the heat down 5 to 8 degrees. With no drilling and Polis and friends wanting solar electric I may end up burning the neighbors ( dem) fence and then his tires

Right out of the Jimmy Carter playbook.
Told us all to turn to 68 degrees in the winter. Carter wore his sweater in the White House. Said American exceptionalism was dead.
Reagan said Phouc that! American exceptionalism has just started.
Obama said “Phouc America, it is not exceptional “
Trump said “Phouc you Obama, MAGA!”
Biden says “I miss the Carter Obama years”😉

The Obamas , according to their own darling child liberal news , said the Obamas like it a bit warmer. That was 76 to 77 degrees. In defense of the Obamas, If that is what they want their temperature at, who cares. As for me, I put in another load of wood and am at 70 degrees with in floor radiant heat, so it is quite warm in my house.

I think they should prepare for 60,000 degrees F.

Without influence we run 68 in the winter lighting off the insert with oak when needed and 76 in the summer with all of the latter provided Mother Nature in north Idaho.

Electric in back room (while I fugg around on PC and watch YT w the cat)...........is much more comfy. Maybe a tad cool, but it doesn't get worse.
Ever since I got my appendix out Ive been on the cool side. More sensitive.

we've always run 65 daytime in winter here in pa and 60 at night. but i do that because i'm cheap. with new windows and doors i use less than 300 gallons of oil a winter for a 3 bed/2 bath house. if i go to someones house who has the heat set to 70 i feel like i am in a sauna.

I don't mind keeping it cool in the winter here in Minnysodapop, but the summers are so humid the air conditioner has to be running cool or I can't fuggin breathe.

The main problem I have with these type things is, the ones making the laws and suggestions never live by their own rules. I'll bet these folks don't have to wear thick sweaters in their houses.

It was 73 here today. My last electric bill was $68. We were a few degrees above that today though the morning walk still warrants a decent jacket. No clue on the propane fills as my wife manages that.

It hit 23 here today. A couple campfire brethren and I spent an hour socializing at a rural McDonalds. Thanks to Gov. Stretchen Gretchen we were relegated to the parking lot, where for at least a brief moment, we'd fantasized about the ambiance of a raging dumpster fire.

70F in the day and down to 65F for bed time.
