There is only ".22 rim fire" and a serial number on this gun. Anyone know what it is?

I think Iver Johnson Sealed 8 revolvers were hinged break open.

With a score of 47 or 48 out of 50 we can rule out the Imperial Storm Trooper model...

I think they made top breaks as well as solid frames. I know they made solid frames because my Grandad has one.
The one in question is not a Sealed 8 though. The target logo was H&R. IJ had the HootOwl.

It appears to be a Harrington & Richardson ~ .22 Cal. Revolver I found break-open models (which yours is not) - but similar to your pic - with the same grip (with 'Target' in circle) - but not your exact model with the un-fluted cylinder, which I presume to be an older model.

It is a Harrington Richardson & really should have some markings on the barrel. Under the base pin?

Here's the Iver Johnson Target Sealed 8
Sorry, but different gun.
Subject gun has a base pin that is the same as the H&R and different from the Iver.
Shape of the rear indentions on the H&R cylinder are the same; different from the Iver; Iver has fluted cylinder unlike the subject gun and the H&R.
Hammer shape on the subject gun is the same as the H&R. The Iver has a much shorter angle on the back end.
Subject revolver and the H&R have the rounder back frame; the Iver has the V notch.
I could go on and on. Do you want me to?
The subject gun and the H&R are almost identical except for the grips. The Iver is close but not nearly the same.

MH,
I posted the Iver Johnson so everyone could see the comparison and decide for themselves.
Facts are facts. I see no room to disagree with your analysis.
Next time we're in the same AO, I owe you a beer.
Thanks SargeMO!

Thanks Antelope. I would love to share a beer with you. But I choose truth over facts.
