I stopped by Buffalo Trace yesterday on the way back home from the frozen wasteland of Western Illinois. Their behind the counter offering for visitors was Blantons at $66 per bottle with a one bottle limit. Cool place. Also found a distillery I’ve never heard of before called Wilderness Trail in Danville, KY. Newer operation but a big one and had a nice Rye Whiskey. Four Roses was nice too and smaller than I would have expected. They had a visitor center select single barrel at 100 proof but I believe that is more marketing and will try it next to a retail single barrel bottle.
Buffal Trace has a release every day of their bourbons and don’t tell you what they have so for the VW fans, they just may have it on any given day but you can only buy their behind the counter offering once every three months.
Only times I drink a VW is if a bar has it and someone else (one of my vendors) is paying the tab.

Pappy is a good bourbon, but not worth anywhere near the hype and drama.. Agreed on the Old Fitz, excellent whiskey!!
Heck, I like Evan Williams quite well myself..
