I have the unfortunate habit of buying and selling rifles. I've had quite a few extremely nice rifles and still managed to somehow convince myself that I want to try something new. To date my 2 biggest regrets are selling a tikka t3 hunter in 6.5x55 and a Sako Bavarian carbine in 270. Anyone else have this problem and if so what is your biggest regret

No regrets here. I always figure they are going to a good home. One regret I have is not buying some I've ran across. I'm trying to make amends to that now though. If I run across one I have on my bucket list or one that is priced way too cheap, I'll not hesitate and just buy it... Last 2 rifles I've bought (in the last month) were what I call "money makers"...
I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA

I have the same problem. I've owned over 150 guns and currently have less than 20. My biggest regret is selling my Marlin 1894 CL in 25-20. It's far from the only regret however

Sure, lots of them. Two that stand out are a Garcia Sako Vixen .223 and a very early Ruger No.1 7mm mag with an AH forend, no sights, and a 22 inch barrel. That one still haunts me a bit, though it was a flame-thrower.
Regret buying some too🤔
Have to say that I’m pretty happy with what I have now. Might sell one or two that have been idle, but they won’t require replacements.
What fresh Hell is this?

2009 had a Tikka T3 30-06, phuqqed around with a pile of stuff, sold the Tikka. Bought the same rifle in 2019. Full circle.

I had an FN Mauser sporter once. From across the room it looked perfect but someone had reblued it and refinished the stock. They also glass bedded it, free floated the barrel, and tuned the original trigger. It shot 1 MOA consistently with 180-grain Winchester Power Points. It fit me perfectly. [Linked Image] I also had a pre-64 Featherweight in 308 that Jim Cloward had bedded into a Pacific Research stock. Lost both of them paying my way out of a divorce. Okie John
If Montana had a standing army, a 270 Win with Federal Blue Box 130's would be the standard issue.

If you sell enough guns, you'll end up with seller's regret on a few of them.

No, I would not I would buy back any of the rifles I have sold, except for one.
As a favor, I sold a Model 70 FWT stainless/wood in 338-06 to a friend at his urging. Stipulation that I get first right of refusal and at the same price I sold it to him for. I hope he uses it and enjoys the heck out of it. If he ever chooses to sell it, I will buy it back. I tried to just let him borrow it whenever needed, but he insisted that he buy it.

Sold a custom 7-08 here years ago. I got on a lightweight rifle kick, and it was too heavy to qualify. That phase has passed and now I wish I still had it. Can always build another though...

The ones I regret selling have nothing to do with caliber or model. I've sold some stupidly low on purpose to friends & family who swooned over the gun every time they saw it, then when the holidays came I gave in out of holiday spirit. Next thing I know they've traded them or sold them out right because they were offered double (sometimes more) than they paid. Well, duh, you fool, why do you think I sold (a few gave) it to you in the first place. The best life lessons you learn the hard way I guess. But, never again. NEVER. Wait till I die. Talk about rending garments and gnashing teeth. Heh heh heh heh.

Never again. NEVER. And the part that pisses me off the most. They come back and tell you what a great deal they made on the sale of the gun, car, whatever, like you are a ph ucking idiot for letting go.. "Remember that XXXX you gave me? I got $XX for it in the classifieds"

Yep, a Sako Vixen L461 in .222 Remington Mag. and a Remington 760 in .257 Roberts.
My other auto is a .45

Not with rifles but I sold a Glock 21, it was the first handgun I ever bought when I was of legal age. It was a dumb decision. I am in the green with rifles, I sold a Saiga 7.62x39 that I did a full conversion on. Turned it into a marlin 1894c in 357, that was the best firearm swap I ever did.

The Winchester Model 47 Target that Dad got for me when I was about 5. I have since found another, but would love to come across the original. Also a Remington 788 in .243 - the long-barrel, blue bolt one.

Sold a bunch, only one I wish I had back was a Kimber 82 in .22 Hornet. Was a beautiful little gun and extremely accurate, I was obviously trying to fund another gun purchase but couldn't tell you what it was now.

Shame on him for pulling a stunt like that. Makes me angry and I’m not even involved. Reminds me of a story from the last ammo crunch. A guy known to buy his .22s by the case, for consistency, was approached by another club member, on the range no less, who demanded that he sell him some. Got pretty nasty about it too. Entitled fugger.
