Not too many shots, not too much scope, clean lines and quick handling (except for the mildly annoying safety, that is). An elegant but not ornate stalking rifle.

Shown with the .30-06 barrel. Alternate barrels are a .233 Rem. and a .243 Win., each with its own Leupold 3-9x33 Compact.

Backup scope is a Leupold 1-4x20 in Leupold QRW rings for quick change with retained zero.

Those rifles had the most beautiful blueing of any rifle I recall.

Nice rifle, have an aristocrat in 22 hornet with an older m8 6x. Svelte little rifle for sure. Nice to carry around in woods.

Sharps1874,
The rings are Leupold QRWs. The base is Weaver 405, sawed off even with the front of the monobloc and a new cross slot cut to locate the front ring even with the front of the base. There’s just enough room under the ocular lens housing for my fat thumb to clear.
Eye relief is slightly better than on Ruger No.1s, even with Ruger’s extension rings.
Every day’s an adventure.

Nice. Just bought 1 myself. 223 243, and a 7mm mag that I shouldn't shoot. Looking for and considering scopes, none yet...

I'm wondering if you downloaded the 7 Mag loads to 280 or, even better, 7-08, if the recoil would be tamed to a tolerable amount.

A 3-9x33 Compact was enough scope to keep 63 grain Sierras from the .223 barrel within a minute of angle at 200 yards. A couple of five shot groups were down around an inch at that distance. And, it’s not too bulky either.

Unfortunately I will be getting one soon. Rather it had stayed w owner. I'll scope it and shoot a chuck in his honor with it. Then proly give it to my youngest.
.22 hornet. There are other bbls someplace.
Will post pics whenever my eyes get to working right.
Chop a Weaver 405..........thanks for the heads up.

Had one years ago in 223, 25/06 and ah schit I don't remember the other barrel. It was stylish and shot good, but not a single shot guy.

223 and 22 hornet bbls. Wonder if that safety lock on front of trigger can be removed. Just run it as push without the button
