Howdy all,

I was hoping to get some recommendations for a nice set of rings to go on top of these bases.

The rifle is a Remington 700 with a #2 Hart barrel in a New Mcmillan Hunter edge stock.

The scope is a 1" Leupold 3.5-10 x 40mm

Burris 2-Piece Xtreme Tactical Scope Base Picatinny-Style Matte (2 piece bases) for use with any Picatinny or Weaver-style rings

I was looking at the Warne Mountain Tech 1 inch rings

https://warnescopemounts.com/product/warne-mountain-tech-1-inch-high-matte-rings/

Please let me know if anyone has used these and liked them or some other options that are recommended.

Thank you kindly!

I really like the Seekins or Vortex Precision Matched Rings.....same ring, both made by Seekins.... in the 1" low. Matched with the Burris XTR 2 piece is my most used setup.

You are using 30mm scope tubes I must assume? The Seekins rings are very nice, although the 1" versions are only offered in .76 inch height which, unfortunately, too low for me.

I, like you, also prefer/need higher scope rings to fit my setups (long face/neck and arms).

Thank you for your response, I appreciate it.

Most of my setups are 30mm now. That said, I love the mentioned 1" rings because of how low they are. My favorite 30mm rings are APA lows which are .75. I want the setups as low as possible.

If you need higher rings there's a ton of options. If I wanted higher I'd switch to a pic rail and use low rings rather than the lowest bases with higher rings.....but it can be done either way.

That's a good point about the rail height. Are there any 2 piece bases that are higher than the Burris XTR's? I have a preference for 2 piece bases and just want to know the options before going to a straight rail.

I'll also check out the Burris rings for sure.

I'm not sure the height on these and I've never used them but Talley and Leupold have a 2 piece Pic Base for 700's. Warne has a 2 piece but I think they are Weaver slots rather than Pic.

Talley:

Leupold:

Wow, excellent thanks for the links.

May I ask the same question for a Kimber Montana 84m please?

I've only been able to find these 2

Yes, the Warnes are the narrower Weaver slot. Easily opened up if needed.

Nightforce has 2-pieces 700 bases, with MOA iirc.

FWIW, I dig the Warne Mtn Techs. Warne has their horizontal Maxima now too. Leupold PRWs. Lots of domestic choices that'd work just fine.

Only 1 rifle with the Burris rings and they sit on a Badger rail. I like Warne's - have them on my CZs.

For some reason you are fixated on Burris rings being made in China. Yet when it’s something that you really want that’s made in China, you readily admit that you make the purchase. There is no other ring with the attributes of the XTR Sig, made somewhere other than China. If there were, I too would prefer to buy goods made elsewhere. Your criticism of buying goods that are MIC seems arbitrary and hypocritical.

The vortex pro rings are nice, made in the USA, and half the price of the Warne.

You are going to have to work really hard to beat your first choice.

The Warne Mountain Techs are fantastic rings. I have them on three different rifles paired with the exact Burris bases you already mentioned.

It's a fantastic pairing. Lots of scope mounting flexibility, keeps the scope low, and has been rock-solid through some pretty brutal hunts in Idaho.

Chink chink chink...

Too bad Burris decided to offshore their manufacturing to China, especially for their products previously made in the USA, like these rings and bases in question.

Use what you like of course. Any good mounts made in Canada?
