My dad is a Vietnam Vet and a recreational pilot.
I gave him autographed copies of Rocky's books and he absolutely loves them.

The reason there was cold beer and bunks when you pilgrims got to Cam Ranh is because the 35th Engr group built it. Actually we were awfully happy to welcome units of the !st Inf to keep Charlie off our ass. It was hard enough to build a city on sand, without Charlies annoyances. Note the spelling. Ranh.
Well this is a fine pickle we're in, should'a listened to Joe McCarthy and George Orwell I guess.

It was 50 years ago last December that I left for home the last time. The years have taken a toll on some of my everyday memories making them a little fuzzy but I can still remember the times you couldn't have shoved a greased flax seed up my ass pretty clearly.
I'm thankful that those here made it home, and God bless those who didn't.
