Canada like many countries relies on imported medications manufactured in Europe, China or India. If the powers to be are smart (same fo the U.S.) they will invite companies like Pfizer to set up shop in one or two of the provinces to produce vaccines and other medicines.
Pfizer, many years ago built a $300 million dollar production facility in Groton CT and had it tore down and recycled years later, moved production elsewhere.

We cannot have our production of medicines anywhere in North America - it would interfere too much with Bidet's profit chain.

Before you curse the current government, they are a little early in the game to deserve it, the last one certainly does. As all governments do. , Moderna and Pfizer both produce vaccines in your country. Our government had asked Pfizer if they could set up a manufacturing facility. They were turned down flat. Manitoba and the federal governments are helping set ones but they won't come on line until 2022.
