I'm less than impressed with my 38 Super brass.
I'm losing at least 10% due to spliting on every firing.
Are you using Hornady dies? I had a similar problem with some 500 Linebaugh brass. It turned out the little spring clip at the base of the bullet seating die protruded a little too much into the die and was scoring the case vertically. Upon firing the case would split. I hadn't noticed it when I was loading. I checked all the rounds I had loaded and several of them had a vertical scratch. I removed the the clip and shortened it up with a dremel and the problem ceased. Fortunately I had only loaded a few small batches of test loads and not several boxes.
Chronographs, bore scopes and pattern boards have broke a lot of hearts.

Nope, Dillon 550B with their dies. I'm down to half of the 1K I started with.

Sounds more like a chamber issue rather than a brass isue

I would agree, all the Starline brass I have used has been stellar.
I'd rather die in a BAD gunfight than a GOOD nursing home.

I use it and factory brass for light but still critter killing reloads, 45-70, 45 colt, 45 schofield, 38 special, 38-40, and have 45 auto rim on order. I like it, they work fine. Most articles complain about the fragility of 38-40 cases...I've never had a problem, but I take my time and enjoy reloading, it's kind of like tying flies.

Actually, I bought this brass in the late 90's for my Colt 1911. Brand new out of the box, some the brass would split.
I sold the gun, but kept the barrel for a different 1911 frame. Still split.
Sold that gun and barrel, and bought a new Ruger Lightweight Commander in 9mm, and bought 2nd barrel in 38 Super.
Same brass, still splitting......
I still shoot Starline in a 45 from the same period, no issues......

I've used Starline in .44 Mag, .45 ACP, .45 Super, .460 Rowland, .458 SOCOM, and .45-70 Gov.
I've noticed that it is a hard brass, unlike WW or Federal, seems fairly consistent, and holds up well. Low pressure loads in the .45-70 required annealing so the mouth would seal otherwise soot would cover the whole case and the occasional "poof" of smoke would come from the breech of my Guide Gun.
Capacity seems slightly less than other brands.
I think it's a good brand. Not Peterson or Lapua, but more than good enough for what I use the aforementioned calibers for. One lot of the .458 SOCOM brass is been through eight firings and hasn't needed trimming yet.

I haven't used enough in the bottleneck rifle cartridges to say how good those are, but for the straight-wall cartridges, Starline is all I will buy anymore. It is so good that I have no desire to use lesser stuff.

I have pushed Starline brass very very hard in 460 Rowland. No disappointments. Their 458 Socom brass should be resized prior to use. Never a bad habit to case gauge check any new Starline brass.
If you are not actively engaging EVERY enemy you encounter... you are allowing another to fight for you... and that is cowardice... plain and simple.

I’ve just used their pistol brass. 45 ACP, 38 SPC, 45 LC. Seems to be just fine and I don’t remember having to throw any cases away right off the bat.

I'll be using it in a Valmet combination guns. These tend to have roomier chambers for ease of extraction. I'll use it in two different guns and will full length resize.

I just ordered some 222 Rem from them. What's your opinion of their quality? Good stuff....never had a problem.

I've found Starline to have about the same level of quality as Remington, Federal and Winchester. Of course QC has slipped on those too in the last few years. So I would say Starline is about the same quality as those used to be.
If I was going to pick one brass maker it would probably be Peterson. But they don't make 222.
