A storm like this is not a problem here. Big storms are fairly common, and most people are prepared for it. The road commission has a lot of snowplows, and homeowners are well equipped with snowplows on pickups, loader tractors and snowblowers. The snow from this storm was dry powder, and easy to move. These 30 inches will settle to about 20 inches in a day or so.

Pretty respectable for Texas. Second lowest temps I’ve seen here. We had one morning with -2 and 12” of snow in January ‘20 but not nearly as long a cold snap then as this time. Been breaking ice in water troughs every day and sometimes twice a day for a week. The good news is it should only get up to 110 or so in August.😂😂

Here on our little hill ~ 6 miles from the airport, you can subtract 10 degrees.

Official a little while ago was -7 and 5 mph. haven't looked at mine (and won't until after coffee) smile
I hope the heat in the well houses stayed on! I don't believe the power went down out there. But it did here.
Need to go check!

Whatever happened to "global warming" ?
Glad I live in the "temperate" southwest !!!

Well, we bottomed out at -19, here at the house - almost no wind, though.

It has been 7 and snowing the past couple of days. Come to find out the thermometer won’t go lower than 7 and it’s actually -3. I shoveled snow for the better part of 2 hours yesterday when it was “7” so that’s how we’re going to roll today as well.

21 degrees here. A little dusting of snow dropped on top of the ice last night but the big blue blob hasn't got here yet. The weather guy is saying it's going to be significant when it arrives. Mostly snow, with a little luck. I can work with snow. But ice is another matter.

I'm surprised at the size of the system. I don't believe I've ever seen one stretch from Texas to New England before.
