Does anyone know what the torque value is for the two allen head screws when attaching the 77/22 barrels?

I generally just go gorilla on them. Will be interesting to see what the actual torque values are.

I read years ago, 15-20 inch pounds for the 10/22. I suppose it could be different on the 77/22...

When I changed out my barrel on my rifle, the factory had them 'gorilla tight', so I put them back that way. So far it has worked fine.
I know that's not much help. sorry

15-20 inch pounds is probably where they need to be. The 10/22 guys claim that the point of impact will change if over torqued.

Does anyone know what the torque value is for the two allen head screws when attaching the 77/22 barrels? Just hand tightened with the Allen wrench.... years ago... it has proven and held up just fine... its dispatched several deer with head shots, that had been either wounded or clipped by a car and broke a hip or shoulder... spent time as a truck gun

Absolute retention isn't the issue...but consistency is. Just as Shefire rolls an elipsis,less an inkling. HINT. Fhuqking LAUGHING!
Rifles shoot loose and NEVER tight.
Tenon tolerance and extractor timing are paramount.

Tightening gorilla tight may have some negative consequences - remember that you are tightening a steel screw into an aluminum receiver and the aluminum threads will give before the steel ones on the screw, that would not be good.
Most likely anywhere from 20 - 30 inch lbs will be just fine.
