Looks more comfortable than my shoulder holster and likely quicker to draw from.

I have that holster. I've only won it a few times so I cannot give a detailed review.

It is comfortable and I'm able to adjust it so that it is hardly noticeable while I'm wearing it. I ordered the holster to fit a Coly Python and hoping that my S&W 69 would also fit and it does.

I have the chest holster in leather from Diamond D.... outstanding craftsmanship. works fantastic. Use it for a Glock model 40 with red dot.

Never bought one but I always like the looks of the 7x chest holster.
I wanted one for a scoped SRH 454 I have. But then got to thinking, for the price how many times will I use it.
Went with a cheap uncle mikes. And I think I used it once in 8 years.
That diamond d looks like a nice holster.

The leather Diamond D is great. The nylon sucks. Here's a copy of a post I made about it in another thread:

The wife got me one of the Diamond D nylon holsters for Christmas. To anyone considering one of those, avoid them. My new holster is like an extra bulky version of an uncle mike's nylon job. The retention strap is poorly designed, I'll explain: The strap is anchored by velcro inside the holster, comes out to go around the hammer or frame, and snaps in front. There is no retention with this holster aside from the strap. There's no way to do anything fast with this holster. You cannot quickly and easily break retention while simultaneously establishing a good grip. You have to break the snap, move the strap, then establish your grip. Not only terrifically slow, it's dangerous as one cannot re-holster one handed. That is, you have to use your left hand to clear the strap in order for the gun to go back into the holster. Otherwise, the strap bunches up as the gun goes in and you have to remove the gun and fiddle with the strap to get it lined up. So one is left with the choice of either trying to re-holster one handed and the possibility of the in-the-way strap snagging on the trigger and causing an ND, or muzzling your support hand as you move the strap out of the way.

Pretty disappointing since I've been impressed with Diamond D's leather offerings.

The good news is the harness system on the nylon holster is pretty skookum. I've discovered that a Simply Rugged crossdraw holster rigged with the Diamond D harness is a great set up! Diamond D won't sell just the harness alone, so now I'm ordering the materials to make my own for the other Simply Ruggeds I have.

I'm actually trying to choose between that holster and the Galco Kodiak for my Ruger Super Redhawk. From the pictures, I get the sense the Galco may have better quality leather. Has anyone compared the two? Is Galco worth double the price?

Another option is alien gear chest holster , I bought one for my RIA 10 mm. I liked the breathable neoprene backing on the mount when I’m working in warmer weather and sweating. One can also swap holster shells if you have different guns you like to carry .

I was gifted one of those from VN war from a vet. I was pretty impressed how well it carries.

I have one for a Ruger Redhawk. I wear it mostly while riding a 4-wheeler or snowmachine. I thought it would be handy for working or while field dressing moose or caribou, but it's kinda in the way for those tasks and a hip holster works better in those roles.

Good quality holster though. I also have a 6-round bandoleer and a speedloader pouch for it.

I prefer the Gunfighter Inc for open carry of my numerous handguns I carry in the great outdoors.

For concealed carry, I prefer the Hill People Gear line of kit bags. I've been carrying my 1911 in one for nearly a decade. My wife also carries her CZ 9mm in one of several she now owns.

That cordura looks like a rust generator in wet conditions.

I just got a reproduction M7 from an outfit in Michigan run by vets. I'm really please with how it fits and carries the pistol. Found a break-in hack using wax paper to set the holster to the gun. As a bonus, the open end allows the compensator from the 460 Rowland kit to hang out and not affect the fit.
