5 times faster than a 55 grain 22-250 !
Tap the brakes for 12 minutes or the landing is going to be dicey!
Quit giving in inch by inch then looking back to lament the mile behind ya and wonder how to preserve those few feet left in front of ya. They'll never stop until they're stopped. That's a fact.

Hope they got that inches to centimeters conversion thing worked out. Kind of surprised there is enough of an atmosphere for a helicopter to fly there.
The video about the landing is great! Can't imagine the strides in engineering that made this possible.

Wish I was there. Last I heard there were no liberals on Mars.

Wish I was there. Last I heard there were no liberals on Mars YET. Fixed it for you. If Trump gets back in office, maybe a whole bunch of them will go there and never come back.

Isn’t it carrying 2 flags to plant? A rainbow and BLM ✊🏿. Remember it’s the world that did this not NASA or the USA.

Here's something interesting about the rover - it's a nuke. My nephew was part of the development of this power plant. How it works is WAY over my head.
The Perseverance rover requires electrical power to operate. Without power, the rover cannot move, use its science instruments, or communicate with Earth.
Perseverance carries a radioisotope power system. This power system produces a dependable flow of electricity using the heat of plutonium's radioactive decay as its "fuel."
The power source is called a "Multi-Mission Radioisotope Thermoelectric Generator" or MMRTG for short. The MMRTG converts heat from the natural radioactive decay of plutonium into electricity. This power system charges the rover's two primary batteries. The heat from the MMRTG is also used to keep the rover's tools and systems at their correct operating temperatures.

They learned from previous rovers that solar cells quickly become useless on Mars due to all the blowing dust.

Pretty cool.
Finally a good use for a 4k tv.
Curious. Is the mars atmosphere too thin for a normal drone? Hence the "helicopter" Seems like the exposed blades are a risk...

This magic day when super science mingles with the bright stuff of dreams.

My electric blanket has that power source, too. So comforting in the winter.

Mind boggling...thanks for the link.
Due to the increased price of ammo, don't expect a warning shot...
