I was contemplating an inshore trip down that way this summer and am seeing reports of major fish kills because of the cold. Beaches lined with dead sea trout and reds, with some sources saying it is a major 5+ year setback to the fishery. Any locals seeing this and what do you think of the prospects of fishing there this summer?
Mostly small fish and bait washing up now.The bigger fish won't float up until the water warms a bit, probably this weekend. It don't look good, but we're hoping it won't be too bad.

Gulf fishing will be fine, the bays and marshes, Laguna Madre were hit hard, it will probably be years before it's back to normal. expect new regs and smaller limits.

As bad as it looks there’s plenty of fish that made it to deeper water and survived the cold just fine. There will be reduced numbers for a couple of years but it will all come back.
