So as some of you are aware that my mom was on hospice. She battled a bone cancer for a couple of years. Well she passed on the 17th.

Anyway yesterday we went to the funeral home to make arrangements. I asked about having the burial at a later date, like May... for one dad isn’t the most nimble, we don’t need him falling from the ice and snow and dealing with the cold. Another reason is there is family that is spread out all over the country.

The director said unfortunately the state doesn’t want a delay account of the Covid. They are afraid of upping the chances of another outbreak by having more gatherings. OMG. I asked him what about the separation of church and state.

We are entering into tumultuous times gentlemen.

I'm sorry for your loss, Viking. Today marks 5 years without my mom.

My opinion is that the covid overreaction is hurting humanity more than it's helping.

Best wishes to you and your family at this time.

Sorry for your mom's passing. You should be free to move forward as you choose. Far too many people are letting the "state" tell them every move to make. I would feel the same as you were it one of my loved ones.

May you mom rest in peace.

I'm sorry for your loss, Viking.

I have an Uncle that has yet to have a memorial service and he passed last fall.

Sorry to hear about your Mom, viking.

Yes. The Biden bleed-over reached funeral homes. Not the first time I've heard this.

Is your mother in ND as well? My uncle passed away in ND a few weeks ago and internment has been delayed until spring without issue.

I recently went through the same thing with my dad. We had the body cremated and had a service in the funeral home with most opting for the service at the gravesite. He was in such bad shape didn’t want a viewing. Sorry for your loss.

I've buried my father and grandmother in the past few years. Dealing with the funeral home was worse than trying to buy a car from a third rate scumbag used car salesman.

Sorry for your loss and hope you can work out a funeral arrangement that works best for your family.

My condolences to you and your family.

My mother passed in late September last year. The funeral home had all sorts of edicts about the viewing and the service.

Simply put, there were many friends in this rural community that would not attend to pay their last respects if they had to wear a mask... and other BS.

We had the viewing on our own property with a small graveside service at the internment at the family plot beside the old church.

Funeral home director and Coonman governor be damned...

Told the director I would dig the grave myself on my own property instead... and build a better coffin than he sold.

It all worked out in the end. The home service worked out beautifully.

Good luck.

Sorry to hear about the passing of your mother. Both my parents are gone from here, the few that loved us unconditionally, (in my case at least and I am grateful for that) are diminished by the staunchest.

Sorry that you've lost your mom & I feel your frustration with all this other crap, especially during sad times.

Condolences.
