yep, wait for a sale and good gen for the money. Of course Hondas are better but for the Money decent generator.

I have one as a back up to my Honda. Mines 5 years old. Never failed to start. HF's warranties are good too.

Not with the predator gens.

I used the predator $99 motors for replacement garden tiller motors.

No chit, first pull starts.

Not Predator, but have had good luck with Champions. Not “Honda quality” but for cheap occasional use, they do the job.

The RV folks seem to like them, as said wait for a sale.

Another you might consider is Champion. If you shop around you can usually find them the same or less than the predator. My electricity just came back on about an hour ago after being out for four days due to the ice storm. I have a 2000W inverter Champion that bought for $399 about five years ago that has countless hours on it. I pulled it out four days ago and it's been running constantly since then, the only time I've shut it off is to refuel it twice a day. It really earned it's keep these last four days and it didn't miss a beat, I think I'm going to treat it to an oil change.

Motors are a somewhat copy of a honda. I have 2 and they work but one ain't putting the watts out that it's supposed to anymore. I think they are a casual use kind of product. I have 2 because well, one is none , 2 is one. They have been used after hurricanes a couple 3 times.

Predator engines are strong, but I'd have grave concerns of the knockoff inverter generators they've bolted to them.

The first thing you will hear from a Predator owner is "The HF warranty is great, this is my third generator, free!"

They are damn good generators for the money, I have two of them. One of them has about 900 hours without a hitch. Do the upgrades, videos are availabke on youtube.

I have had mine for 5 years now. Starts on the first pull every time. The Amp ratings are a little light but are for most portable generators. Its the older style 3500 watt and is loud.

The newer inventer 3500 generator is quiet as a Honda.

Use a 20% coupon & get a 3500W Predator inverter from Harbor for less money than a 1000W Honda.

I've heard/read good reports on the Pred. yet can't help but think "buy known quality & cry once" But egads Hondas are terribly expensive. If they were watches, they'd be Rolex money.

Most (I've heard not all) of the 20% Coupons have an exclusion against Predator power tools.

The are a dang good deal for the price. We have one at my buddies cabin and we run it constantly in 90 degree weather during our deer season. Have only had to change the oil and replace the pull start cord and it continues to run like a champ.

When getting into budget generators, there as good as any...I have a Honda 2k and a honda 3k and wanted a cheap one to beat around and not worry about..Bought a Westinghouse 2250 only because Onan sells the exact same thing for more money,as an Onan portable generator...So far so good....
