Yes it was. We went outside after breakfast, came back for lunch, played outside ‘til it got too dark to see the baseball, football or the mosquitoes got too bad. Cowboys and Indians, army, cops and robbers were also on the agenda and no one was alarmed by kids running all over the neighborhood with cap guns. There was a lady around the corner that had a really nice plum tree. We’d sneak in, grab some partially ripe ones and haul butt home. She saw us on occasion but never got upset and those slightly green plums were awesome. 😁
