Looking for somebody who's desire to own a good 7-08 is stronger than my resolve to keep it.......grin
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

FOR SALE:

My custom 7-08 built on a stainless Remington 700 short action, with the good "S" prefix series finish.

Action was lightly tuned, with the face squared off, lugs were lapped, and recoil lug surface ground flat on both sides.

Threads remain factory dimensions.

Bolt was spiral fluted by Kampfeld.

Action has been milled for a 2.995" length Wyatt's box, which is included, along with the extended Wyatt's follower.

Barrel is a Rock Creek #3 contour, 23 1/4" long, 9" twist, with six flutes, with a .625" muzzle diameter.

McMillan Classic stock, regular fill, 80/20 black & tan mix, s/s sling studs front & rear, left side flush cups front & rear.

Factory aluminum pillars installed, 13 1/2" length of pull, and 1" Decelerator pad.

Factory BDL bottom metal, which has been painted tan to match the stock.

Stock has not been bedded, and weighs a touch over 30 ounces.

Trigger is an old school stainless Remington.

Scope is a Leupold VX3 2.5-8x33 with the duplex reticle.

Scope is mounted in lapped 1" Talley low rings.

As pictured, weight is 7 pounds, 4 ounces.

This one of the few guns I own that I don't have an accurate round count for, WAG would be around 500.

I have 75 pieces of brass that are fired once, and I loaded them again on 8-10-14.

11 of those were shot to sight in the new Leupold that's on it now, the last 3 going into a tidy little group at 300.

It was taken home, cleaned, put away, and has not been fired since.

I have since switched stocks, so the scope will need to be sighted in again.

I will break down the loaded rounds, and include those 75 pieces of brass in the sale.

$2195.00 shipped in the lower 48 to your FFL, who must accept from a private individual, no exceptions.

No trades, don't ask.

Payment by bank check, postal money order, or personal check with the appropriate wait.

The barreled action only, preferably w/o the trigger, will be sent to your FFL, the rest of the parts directly to the buyer.

I will also be taking off the rings & scope for shipping separately. I have the original scope box & paper work.

Nice gun and nicely put together ad.

Too many guys just throw it out there with little to no description, sometimes even no pic We are expected to be clairvoyant I guess.

Good luck with the sale.

Nice package at a very fair price. Who doesn't love a 7-08?

Current load is with either 140 Ballistic Tips or 140 Accubonds, same load, same accuracy, tested to 600.

Originally, I found a good load with 120 BT's that I killed a couple deer with. Then got the itch to play with 162 Amax and 168 Bergers, and ultimately decided to go back to the 140's, with the off chance of using it for elk.

I still have a 338-06 Ackley languishing in the safe....
