Fairly simple question. What's your your thoughts on cheating on your taxes? Not asking if you do it or not, just your opinion on those who avoid paying as much as required by law.

They're just cheating those who pay.

Cheating is cheating

If there are legal methods to avoid paying taxes or to pay less taxes, that’s not cheating.

The IRS is way understaffed and audit number were way down under trump. A friend pointed this out to me when trying to convince me of an investment strategy to avoid taxes that my accountant said was a little too far into the gray area for his taste. I told my friend something along the lines of “just because the cashier is gone and the drawer is open does not mean you should reach in and take the money”

Not wise to pick a fight with the biggest bully in the room. A lot easier to pay your taxes and sleep at night, or move to a state where there are lower taxes.

Seeing what FedGov is doing to us - I encourage every White Man to do whatever it takes to starve FedGov of $$

Just use their tax laws as written and things should be ok.

If one skirts these laws they have to sweat it for 7 years.

The assistant librarian position on the Bookmobile doesn't pay me much, but I adopted a couple of mezcan kids and now I get me some earned income credit. Ever once in a while I unlock the basement door and throw a bag of frozen bean burritos down there for them kids. They earned em after all, getting me a vacation to Myrtle Beach every year.

Its not fun sitting across the table from a IRS agent. I don't cheat I take advantage of the legal deductions. Best way if you are a sole Prop you are being taken. Form a corporation

Did Coronavirus make you work from home in 2020? Home business? Internet? Electric bill? Phone bill?

Myrtle Beach ain't much of a vacation. Try Dollywood... take some pictures, submit them to a magazine. Write them off. Write-off the vacation because you are trying to become a professional photographer.

Not worth the risk. I have been audited. Thankfully I did everything by the book so nothing came from it but it reinforced that it isn't worth taking a chance.
