With how scarce ammo has become, I come across 2 boxes of Remington Core Lokt 150 grain 35 Remington. Are they as bad as I’ve read from other sites? I always used 200 grain in the past, but you almost have to get what’s available. Thanks

Years ago I loaded some and shot them into a box filled with wet newspapers. They expanded nicely and stayed together but didn't penetrate as deeply as the 200gr bullets did. I can't imagine they would bounce off the hair of any animal within 100yds.
Thanks, Dinny

I played with these a bit. Surprised how well they hung together but not a very good penetrator. Would do for smaller deer taken from the side.

I picked up a Marlin 336SC right at the beginning of deer season. I found one box of Remington 35 Rem 200 RN ammo. I had to give $50 I ended up finding components and got reloads up and running so I still have that full box. It sits on the safe as a reminder of the craziness of ammo prices.

Traditionally the 150 SPS ammo was not recommended for tube mag guns. However on the Marlinowners site there is a guy that says it is fine for tube mag guns. But it is the internet so..... I am more cautious. I think it might be like not wearing a mask in pubic or unprotected sex....it's all fine until it isn't! Consequences can't be reversed.

I have three or four boxes of 35 Remington ammo I would sell.
And I ain't in that big of a gouging mood. But it's the postage ( legal) that kills.
I am heading to the big city in a few weeks so I could ship them.
Pm me if you wanna make a deal. I reload.......so I don't need em.

In my 336D 35 Rem I have only shot 180 grain to 220 grain bullets. I have no experience with the 150 grain core lokt. The reason why is that in my Speer #12 reloading manual it states that, and I quote "The 150 grain factory load gained a poor reputation for accuracy and game performance and should be avoided." My go to bullet now is the 200 grain Maker Lever-Rex.

If that’s all you have, I’d hunt with them. I’d prefer a heavier bullet, if possible.
