What height ring med or low would I need for a 40mm Leupold scope on a Ruger #1B.
Anyone like to convert from the stock/factory Ruger #1B scope base to a picatinny base? If so, what Picatinny did you use?
Thanks

I ran mediums on my B in .280 w an old Vari Xii 3-9X. EGW makes a pic base for the B (and a diff one for the V). I would not do a slip over like that of the EABCO....one is bad enough looking, the other even worse IMHO
If I do a custom #1 it will wear the EGW.
I can get a scope to work for me if I use the reg Ruger ext at the rear. However, I hate Ruger rings since the tops go past center.

Dale06; A lot of guys want low rings on their #1's... I prefer high rings because it's much easier to access the loading port with the higher rings... In the heat of battle, you need all the advantage you can get. - G.H.

Even w mediums expect to ding the underside of scope if you just pop cases out " normal ".
