6.5 PRC load data for Berger bullets is scarce, to be sure. I have worked up a very accurate load for my rifle, using the 140 gr. Berger VLD Hunting bullet, ahead of 60.2 gr. of MagPro powder, for a MV of 3050 fps. Played with COAL, ended up with the best accuracy at .10" off the lands. Primers are CCI BR2 benchrest large rifle. This is not a maximum load, but with the sub-MOA accuracy it shows, I am okay with it. My rifle is a Savage 110 Ultralite.
I'd rather be a free man in my grave, than living as a puppet or a slave....
Running 55.5g rl26 with 156eol out of 22” barrel. Large rifle primer. Getting 2840 FPS. Don’t have too much rl26 left. Have to start trying retumbo. But reluctant as don’t want to burn through too much stuff.

Thanks for the info. Seems like everyone who’s using RL-26 is running between 55-57gr. A buddy of mine sent me some data from quick loads and it’s looking like Max is about 60gr so I’m going to start around 54gr and work up from there.
If you can’t get a hold of RL26, N565 works real well too and can be easier to find.
I’ve got a few lbs of RL-26 on hand as I’ve been using it for a 270wsm and 7RM. But with using it for 2-3 rifles it’s going to go quick. Got a few lbs of H1000 on the way as well. I was able to get a friends brother to print out some quick load data and looks like N560 and N565 would both work well?? I’ve never used Vihtavuori powder of any kind before. Guess I’d give it a try if I could find some. Looking at this printout I was given it also looks like MAGPRO and IMR-7828SSC are good choices as well. It’s good to know I have some options now.
Thanks for this! There’s tons of useful info on this thread. Although I’ve got a few lbs of RL-26, the guys on this thread have got me wanting to try N565!
Well, finally got to go out to do some shooting. Had to limit to 20 rounds. I finally got a new scale, gempro 300. Accurate to .02grains
So the load is 55.5 rl26 with col 2.96. My rifle is 22inch Christensen Ti. Ridgeline. I had my magneto speed set up. First few shots didn’t register. Fiddled with the bayonet a little. Next shot, read bayonet error. [bleep]. I just scraped the bayonet. Oh well. No velocity for this load but the last batch was aroun 2840.
So the final 10 shots looked like this. I don’t understand the three on the bottom right. My bad. But looks good for the other seven shots in about 3/4-1 inch.

Weird how those 3 shot away from the rest of the group huh? I’m going to start with 54gr of RL-26 for now and work up from there.
