Time was you couldn't throw a stone and not hit a really good old world butcher/meat processor in this part of the state.

We had one in town years ago.

He burnt it down for the insurance.....and several other businesses around him.

The town over west had a good one too.

Nothing on the order of "old world"....but good for up here....just past nowhere.

I will never forget the meat and cheese tray that Steve and Mable Ghisletta put out for us in Napa.

That is a cherished memory. Out of this world good.

It was an emotional weekend for a 10 year old!

First time eating cheese that wasn't Velveeta.

First time drinking Banquet Beer.

First time eating real Mexican food.

First time tackling a porta potty.

First time barfing at high altitude.

Do they sell Cattaneo Bros anywhere local to you? They have a spicy sausage that is one of the best IMO.

I need a friend like that!

Well, I sorta have one, but warmer water fish. Neighbor goes out on long range boats out of SoCal every year. I had some yellowfin out of the freezer tonight. There's more of that and some bluefin and wahoo in there still!

If we had eaten the last piece of halibut in our freezer, and I had a friend like that, my wife would be yelling at me to get on the phone to AK too.

She liked the tuna tonight though.

805-

I’ve been visiting SLO since I was born, and haven’t come across that label. Very fond memories with my grandparents there. the tour of what’s new with the city and downtown during every visit. My grandpa was involved with cal poly/politics/city planning there from the 60’s until his passing in 2019. the most recent trip we made to finalize the selling of the house will unfortunately probably be the last. If I find myself down that way again- I’ll be sure to try the sausage/jerky. May even order some just to support the local company. Thanks for the suggestion.
