AFAIK a pre-WWII scope, and if in good nick probably more a collector than a shooter.
Mounted too high too, as is common with the genre.
The rings appear sized for that scope, and in all likelihood not compatible with much else.
If you owned the rifle and scope you might use it as-is, but my own inclination would be to get a new(er) scope, which will have such things as multicoated optics and be waterproof. You'd need the "legs" to match, either with rings or for a rail, depending on which configuration the scope you buy has. You could get lower ones too, while you are about it.
The claws will need to be hand-fitted to the bases in order to nice and tight and return reliably to zero every time, and you'll need a gunsmith who has experience in doing this.
I have been down exactly this road myself, swapping out an old 6x for a new 1.5 - 6x on a drilling. I know a Ferlach-trained gunsmith and he did the fitting for me for about $100 IIRC, plus what the scope and legs cost (rail-mounted not rings). Unfortunately for you (but fortunately for me) that bloke is here in Oz, but there should surely be some in the US who have the necessary training and skill.
