Johnny Winter and Rick Derringer when they played in the band Johnny Winter And. Album was made in 1970. Probably some of the best complimentary guitar work by two guitarists in the song Prodigal Son. Winter plays a gunslinger deep guitar lead in the first solo and Derringer plays a blistering cry baby pedal guitar in the second solo.

Prodigal Son

Lastly Johnny Winter from Second Winter, Album was made around 1968. Song was titled I love Everybody. Blistering slide guitar work by Johnny.

Why stop at guitar solo's?
How about a drum solo leading into a base solo leading into the guitar solo?

Not every good guitar solo has to to be an example of minutes long flatuence - I prefer smaller soloes spaced out amongst the song, or a quick little stand-alone. These by Robert Quine, Richard Lloyd, and Tom Verlaine are excellent examples of the former:

As an example of the latter, Bob Rupe nails his little solo in the middle of this Silos tune:

And I always loved the fuzzed-out outro to this old Thin White Rope ode to friendship - a great juxtaposition to it mainly acoustic melody:

In the 60s, I like Eric Clapton's guitar in the live version of Spoonful.
