It looks like the weather people got it right this time! We're only about halfway through this snow event and we got a decent amount of snow in about 12 hours. Coupled with our usual high winds, the blizzard conditions can be sporty and create high drifts in one place with not much snow in others. The snow warrior lady across the street gave up shoveling her driveway after about 15 minutes. Roads in the southern quarter of the state are all closed. Our very reliable power is starting to brown out. Fortunately, it isn't that cold at 27F. The good thing about spring snow storms is that the snow melts in a few days.

The birds are going to have to look elsewhere for a bath. The home equity immigrants from fairer climates who bought ranchettes out in the county will be evaluating their next move.

Stay warm, my friends!

So far no snow and damn glad it’s not. 4.9” of rain in the last 24 hours. 43, rain and 30 mph straight winds.

Wyoming winters help keep out the riff-raff, along with returning imports back to their warmer origins.

40 degrees this morning at 07:00 hrs, wind 2 to 6 mph, and we got a sprinkle of rain during the night! I don’t want your weather, but would love to get some good wet snow or about an inch or so of rain! memtb

Looks like close to 1/2 of 4' with the storm only 1/2 over.......

Looks pretty close to 2' on the bird-bath. If they get another 2' during the 2nd half of the storm they'll have 4'.

2' + 2' = 4'

They told us 2 to 3 feet. The left side of the bird bath is now covered.

Hit it pretty close for Riverton too. Got up to three or so inches this morning and light rain. 40 degrees now and no wind and melting fast. Sure do need the moisture.

We have a solid 12-14 inches in Laramie and blizzard conditions.
As Cheyenne stated it is only half over and we are getting our feet of snow.
Thankfully no leaves on the trees yet.
Our power is doing fine and the wood stove is working great to keep the house warm.
Hoping our friend's establishment will be open downtown later today, blizzard beers are always fun.

Equity immigrants. smile

I think I can figure out who "they" are.

Lol.

Lander got about 5-6" of heavy wet, preceded by some rain. 40 degrees and no wind right now. Been out shoveling but had to give it up as a bad job, across the street neighbor will send his kids over to finish it. He mentioned he was trying to shoot some 40 year old Winchester and CCI in his K-22 and Browning semiauto, was having functioning problems with the Browning and could not get cartridges into the chambers of the K-22 even after thorough cleaning. Will give him a couple bricks of Automatch and some other stuff to try

Delivered? Also, does it come with a lift kit for the first couple of passes? It took my wife and I three shifts to shovel our urban lot driveway to the street, not that anyone will be going anywhere for a couple of days. smile

Dang, bar is closed today due to no unnecessary travel in town. Stupid folks with low profile AWD getting stuck in intersections.

We're strong enough in Wyoming to shovel by hand, but thanks for the offer tikkanut.

Four hours later.

I'm not trying to make a big deal about this (I know that others have more severe weather), but it is a pretty impressive amount of snow for this area of the high plains in about 15 hours, and it's still going to fall for another 12 hours or so, then turn cold. The NWS said it was 21 inches as of a couple of hours ago, with another 10 predicted. The mountains by the cabin are probably getting pounded much worse, which is a good thing.
