Up for sale is a S&W 629-4 in 44 Mag. This summer will make 11 years that I've owned this handgun. I shot around 40 rounds when I first got it and it's been in my safe ever since. As you can see from the pics, the handgun is in excellent condition with a minor scuff on the cylinder (visible in pic #3). Cylinder lockup is tight with virtually no play on each of the six chambers.
After purchasing, I replaced the stock mainspring and rebound spring with a Brownell Power Rib mainspring and 13 lb. rebound spring. The trigger pull is smooth and breaks cleanly at around 3lbs (single action). I did not experience any failures to fire with the lighter spring. The original parts are include as well as a couple of other springs that came with the Brownell kit.
The handgun comes in its original and matching blue box along with manual and other paperwork (registration card is missing). $1150 shipped/insured
The best of the best S&W 629 ( dash 4 config)... and a 4" barrel to boot. The 629-3 and 629-4 (and 629-2E) have the "Enduro package" from the factory for longer life.
Awesome revolver. I have a 629-3, with a 4 inch barrel, so I'm all set. but I still like to look at what might be the finest revolver S&W ever made (next to a 357 Registered Magnum).
