I'm looking at a new Green Mountain barrel for my 10/22, I do shoot quite a few of the CCI Stingers so should I get a chambered as such or the standard 22?
I also shoot some high velocity hollow point ammo & the CCI Sub sonic HP, but shoot the Stingers about 60% on my small game/varmint outings.

Your post already has the answer in it. Why would you not get the Stinger chamber since 60% of your shooting are Stingers?? drover

Is the Stinger chamber designed to provide better accuracy or reliability with the Stinger's dimensions? I don't shoot a lot of Stingers, but I have shot them in a lot of guns and can never recall any reliability issues. If the question boils down to accuracy, how much accuracy can be gained with the Stinger chamber and would any accuracy with other ammo be lost?
Schidt, I don't have answers, just questions.

Didn’t know they offered a Stinger chamber. Interesting. My CSC manual specifically warns against Stingers and others with a long case because of the chamber dimensions. It’s a little fussy about what it’s fed, but Mini Mags run perfectly.
What fresh Hell is this?

Schidt, I don't have answers, just questions. See pappy’s post above for your answer. The case size is a wiska longer and can cause issues in reliable function in barrels that are match chamber or bentz chambers.

Never had heard of that chamber. Yes the Stingers are a bit different. A match or Bentz chamber are tighter. Perhaps a bit harder to close the bolt, and not being able to extract a loaded round. To me it would really depend on the barrel. IE what is the standard chamber specs? Stingers were made for any 22LR firearm. A Match chamber is normally a bit tighter, and has the bullet hitting the lands.I can't think of a more finicky rifle than a 22LR for what is accurate and what it likes. With things the way they are now I would want a rifle to shoot well (at least function well) with whatever ammo I could find.
