I don't recall a 788 ever being marketed with a youth stock. You will probably have to find one that has been cut down. There may be an after market youth stock though.

I have a nice factory wood stock on a 788 308 that is cut and with a recoil pad LOP is about 12.5 IIRC. It's bedded tight to this action, like I had to put it in the freezer to get it apart after I bought it.
I'd be up for trading for a uncut one, but not sure if it would fit another barreled action???

The 222 and 308 are different action lengths. I have 5-6 stocks for 788 in different action length if you need one.
