Ruger sure makes good look'n rifles.

I have a first year production (1968), 3 digit serial number, Ruger M77 in 308 Win. It is a beautifully made and nice handling rifle; and has served we well, for deer, elk, and hog hunting, for over 50 years, I have a newer Ruger 77 MK II in 7x57 which has become my favorite hunting caliber. Both rifles have been of high quality and well performing firearms. I have never had an issue with any Ruger made rifle or pistol. I highly recommend them!

I have a Hawkeye, blued/synthetic 22" barrel.
Bought it new from cdnn for a little over $400 a couple years ago. It shoots federal power shok 150 and 180 extremely well and my TNT 125's even better. Great rifle in my opinion. I use it for all of my hunting from coyote up to big game.

I've lost count of how many Ruger 77 s I've witnessed, that will give one hole to 1/4 inch groups at 100 yds with simple hunting scopes in the factory supplied rings. You'll see more Ruger 77s in Alaskans hands, than any other model.

I'm pretty crude and unpolished, I could give a flying fk how course the inner surfaces of the action may be. Shoot more and it will slick up.

Good to Alaskans, and good to left hand shooters as well. To offer a Ruger African or guide rifle to a left hand shooter, that's a kind gesture right there.

Anytime I've ever had a problem with a Ruger, they've ALWAYS fixed it.

**Little trick on the trigger spring: remove factory spring, over compress it till its bottomed out. Do this a half dozen times. Reinstall and it'll be right at 2.5 lbs, everytime. Easiest to adjust trigger I've ever worked on.**

A Ruger 77 is so simple in design, it'll make yah want to go back to a fixed 2.5 x scope. That might be pushing it. Who could possibly contemplate a low power fixed scope?!

As others have said I have had great luck and no problems with Ruger 77's. If I were buying a new rifle today it would be a Hawkeye

Yep, another +1 from this Alaskan. My .338 will put a couple slugs touching each other dead center a couple inches above the bull every year when I shoot it before moose hunting season. Then take the abuse of bouncing around on the atv for a few days and then kill whatever I point it at. I don't shoot it too much, cuz who likes getting pounded with that when you have plenty of other guns to shoot, but it gets carried the most when you add all the miles and days in the field that it gets. Ruger All weather with Leupold scope.

A little moly truck bearing grease on the contact surfaces of the action works wonders too.

Swapped scopes on the .223 today. Went to a Burris E1 4.5 -14 I had laying around.

Have a walnut/matt Hawkeye in 243, Leopold 2.5X
Also a gen 1 Alaskan (first 100, pre barrel band sling swivle) in 375 ruger, Leopold 2.5-8X

Both left handed

Wouldn't part with either for lots of $$$$
