I understand not having space for gun boxes but to me having that box to match to a gun adds value. When I was a boy a country store close to where I lived sold guns. It was run by a older couple. They sold guns to hunters not collectors and a lot of those boxes were left at store. A few years after they passed store building was sold and remodeled. Sad day when those Remington,Winchester, and Browning boxes were burned in the gravel parking lot .

I keep all of mine, and ask about the box and paperwork on any I buy used. Collectable firearms, the boxes and paperwork do affect the price. New guns perhaps not as much but it can't hurt to have them.

Some of today's common guns could be tomorrow collectibles that's why I keep all the boxes for guns and scopes.

Who gives a [bleep]. It's cardboard. I don't have room to store boxes all over. Most guys who demand boxes are anal weirdos who aren't even going to shoot the damn gun. Exactly. Flippers can get more for gun with box..
