I am building a 22 TCM I have a Savage 4.40 bottom bolt release action. I will be using a single shot follower. A bind stock would nice. Any one got any ideas on what to try and find..

Boyds sells them. Or join Savage Shooters forum, you may get lucky on the buy and sell.

There's a much better selection of 4.250 stocks of that style.

You can use a 4.250 stock by moving the front pillar forward .125. -Al

FWIW, Here's how I moved the pillar forward on my 4.275 stock to fit a 4.400 action:

Zero'd the front/rear action screw holes on the Z axis:

Moved the mill bed forward .125 and used a .750 counter bore. This cut past the back edge of the original action screw hole:

Made a .750 dia. pillar:

.625 is the smallest I like to go for a pillar...there are physical limitations of stocks that don't always allow this, however.

If forced to use a smaller pillar, I make adjustments for adequate epoxy.
