Howdy, I was curious if anyone had any experience with a Dave VanHorn blackpowder muzzleloader barrel? I purchased one used a bit ago, and cannot seem to make a go of it. The breech plug is not compatible with BH209, triple 7 has consistent ignition. I have tried the cva powerbelt to some success, but the lack of QLA makes for difficult loading. As of late, the 460 no excuses seemed promising when I tamed the charge down to 65 grains. I will add that the frame is a contender g2. The only consistency is the inconsistency off a heavy bag. Theres a little slop with a 2x, .376 hinge pin. Sights are a Williams peep with a Lyman 17a with Lee shaver crosshair insert. You probably know by now what I'm trying to accomplish. Western muzzleloader, loose powder, full bore bullet, open sights. Love the 6 pound contender g2, but had to pull out the old MK-85 carbine and take the scope off it. Thanks in advance, Jason
