I have a whole 500 count box I got at work and have yet to try them. The price for Barnes employees was too good to pass up. They won't mag feed from my 300WM since the COAL places the bore riding section of the bullet, not in the neck, where it needs to be. Instead, i've been focusing on our new 208 gr LRX

The 208 LRX in a 300 Norma got shot today, outdoors, hitting a 24" long block of ballistic gel, into a 2nd block, at 700 yds, I mixed up 2 nights ago. Holy cow that bullet is AWESOME! Mz vel of 2970-80 at 5700' elev in 35-40 deg F and the expansion and penetration was incredible. I would have zero doubts shooting that bullet from my 24" 300 WM's 24" barrel at 2900 fps at any elk altitude and temp to 1000 yds and a bit more.

This past Monday, when I got to the lab, I talked to my boss about the ballistic gel results he was almost giddy with the results. He's been there 13 (?) yrs, shot A LOT of bullets into gel and he said it was the most impressive gel shot he'd ever seen. Like me he was building a rifle just for this bullet; his being a 300 Norma Mag and mine a 300 Win Mag. The one bullet he mentioned that had almost exactly the same results in gel is the 212 gr LRX.

I’d like to see the bullet as well and what it looked like after 700 yards.
All of them do something better than the 30-06, but none of them do everything as well.

Are the Bore Riders similar to the Hammer Bullet's Absolute Hammer in that the diameter at the ogive is reduced and does not contact the lands, hence increasing BC?
