40% off until Midnight tomorrow

SPRING40 code to enter at checkout. No need to sign up for the emails.

I got one from a relative a few years back, works great for what it is. Keep it in a sunny window here. Used it for an hour the other night during an outage. Brother just bought another. Took it out of the box in the evening. Still going at 0600 the next morning, then died around 0700. I've used mine on the tailgate of the truck when getting back from hunting to get dinner and strip off hunting clothes and dress for bed. I just bought a few more.

new since I got mine years ago, they have models with phone charging capabilities.

No, I don't have an interest in the company, have never looked to see if it's owned by "liberals" or if it's on the Official Campfire Boycott List.

Go ahead and live in the dark then.

What about a seal oil lamp on a piece of whale bone?

Would that be suitable for after the EMP takes out the grid?

Seriously though....what could be better than solar powered lamps?

Plus...if you get bored....photovoltaic cells are interesting to look at.

Honestly, I have a "Goal Zero" lantern/flashlight, with a crank also in case the sun isn't shining and one needs some exercise. And two little flashlight ones that sit in the vehicles, but these little Luci collapsible ones are pretty cool. The other night, use the cell phone to get to the window it sits in without tripping over a whippet or one of their toys (subsitute kids in your house?), get the light, inflate, turn on, and set it on the kitchen counter to light the kitchen, dining room, and a good part of the living room.

No need to find the candles and lighter so I could burn down the house..............according to the wife that is.

I have a Luci light and it won't recharge with the amount of daylight and overcast we have up here in the fall.

These little GoalZero lights rock for cabin and tent camping, two will seriously light up a poker table! 7 hours of good light and weigh little. We take a couple and take a small power pack if we will need to recharge them.

Yeah tk, I can imagine in SE it might be problematic in a good portion of the year as far as recharging. Lived in the Juneau area through 2 falls, so I have a good idea what you're talking about. My old Luci is just solar, but one of the new ones I'm getting has a USB port for those days when it doesn't recharge, plus it's a two way deal and could be used to charge a "device".

I have one of the big old Goal Zero rectangular lantern/flashlight combo deals. Used it a lot in AZ, set it where it would charge all day, use it when returning from hunting around camp. But the folding solar panel will no longer stay closed to the body of it, so it doesn't get as much use as before.

Enjoy the spring up there, as I recall. May is a nice month!
