78 gns WW-760 or IMR-4350 has been berry berry good to me with 300 gn Partitions. WW-brass and lit with a Fed-215. Gunner What a cool old blast from the past thread, same/same for me except today i run RL-17 in my standard 375 H&H, 300gr Partitions at 2680 and 300gr BBW #13 solids at 2700, let that sink in for a bit if you wish too,, it is more of a hammer today than it's ever been, game animals to 400 yards are now easily within reach, and within reach slumming a 5X max power scope, who would have thought such a thing from a heavy medium bore just a few years ago? 400 yard dinner looks like it's standing at 80 with naked eye, so close you can already hear/smell cooking it on the grill! FUGG mowing/weedeating/brush-hogging/cutting hay, spraying, i'm ready to shoot some shlt! Just so happens I had the H&H out this morning at the monthly Hunting Rifle Challenge which includes a volleyball-sized balloon anchored somewhere's around 400 yards. Rangefinders not allowed. You gotta know your dope. To dang much fun...
It's you and the bullet, and all the rest is secondary.

The 250 Kodiak with 75 grains of R15 did well. This bullet is copper and produces higher pressures but is about as close as you can get to the Bitterroot Bonded Core bullets. 250 TSX with 76 grains R15 was good too, I used Magnum primers so maybe another reason my loads are lighter than some.
I will be trying R16 with 235-250s and just out of curiosity will try R26 with the 270-300 grain bullets.

Might try some 300's one of these days, just for grins.. The 270 TSX over RL-15 is such an ingained load and concept, it's almost sacreligious to even suggest anything else. BUT, the 250 TTSX has a better B.C. flies faster, flatter, and RL-16 will out perform the old classic '15. I've long wondered why the 250 TTSX didn't just take off and lead the pack. I guess old habbits.... And the older load does work pretty well. DF
