I ate at one in Dallas, Tx 2 yrs ago. Looked like Mogadishu in there. Took them 20 mins to fix our 2 burgers and they were not busy.
Willing to give them another chance.

I've never eaten one. My sister from Dallas says they're the greatest, better than In&Out.

Good company. Terrible food.

Really? I've heard just the opposite. Of course I'm from MN and we don't have much to choose from.

I married a Texan, and all her kin are Texan. There is nothing more Texan than Whataburger and Dr Pepper. Never shall a bad word be said about either. We drove to Florida and back last week. It was like they'd seen some kind of exotic dove that only appears every 20 years or something everytime they saw a Whataburger. "Oh look, WHATABURGER!!!!" They're not bad, I don't avoid them, but they're not the end-all, be-all of fast food.

Willing to give them another chance. I've ate at them since I was a kid. None around our present locale, yet. Anyway, closest is 150 miles. Mahomes bringing them to KC though so that gets them 50 miles closer. They're all right. Lots of stuff I prefer, but they're better than most fast food chains. You don't have to be too good to compete with Mickey D's and Booger King.

One opened near me a while back and when the training crew was there and for about a year after that it was really good. After a bit of turnover and maybe some owner/operator complacency set in, well, meh.

Whataburger operates franchises in Texas, Arizona, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Arkansas, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida and Georgia. The original Whataburger restaurant is in Corpus Christi, Texas, where it was originally headquartered, but has since moved operations to San Antonio, Texas. Whataburger, which was founded in 1950 by Harmon Dobson, is still family-owned and operated. The First Whataburger opened 70 Years agoclic pic for story and 77 more pics

My local Whataburger has done pretty well with putting their best customer-service personnel at the drive-through. 90% of the time, they are very polite and professional. They aren't at the Chik-Fil-A level, but still pretty good for this area. I try to compliment them on their service when they do a good job.
Now with even more aplomb

Many fans were apoplectic.

I started having to go inside so I could read the little screen at the register to make sure my order was entered correctly. Then the kitchen could at least have a shot at getting it right, but that got spotty as well.

From my perspective... yes. Their breakfast biscuits are ok. Everything else gets an unenthusiastic "meh".

They don't come down this far, unfortunately. Otherwise, I would hit them up. Used to enjoy a big fat Whataburger as a younger fellow.
