But if you want Congress to impose gun restrictions, the only truly constitutional way of doing so is by repealing or altering the Second Amendment, not reinterpreting its meaning to contradict everything the people who passed it into law believed.

Our right to bear arms comes from God, not government. Repealing the Second Amendment will not change that - we would still have that Natural Right to bear arms.

The ‘unconstitutional laws’ stand as written, where written.
G*d had nothing to do with it.

As much as I was a fan of Justice Scalia, his opinion in Heller had serious flaws. He basically accepted the argument that the federal government has the authority to regulate firearms in the manner they have in the past (e.g., background checks, no guns for those with mental issues, etc.) and tried to distinguish things like M4s from AR clones you can get retail. What he ended up doing was give the left enough ambiguity in what the case held that they are now able to argue that Heller was limited to handguns in the home and nothing else.

The truth is that the 2nd Amendment exists to keep the federal government from getting involved in gun ownership, period.

Yes. He relied heavily on the scholarship of Joyce Malcolm. Nothing wrong with that, but it appears that restrictions existing around the time of the Founding were also contrary to the Founder's intent.

Can not have communism if your subjects are armed.

Yes you can, but your subjects must be stupid, ignorant and especially cowardly. If they can accomplish that (through media and government approved curriculums) it doesn't matter how well armed the slaves are. They won't fight.

The most basic American history lesson our elected officials have either never learned, or chosen to ignore, is the fastest way to get Americans to do something is to tell them they can't do it.

And jails are full of those who did it.

Yeah, I'm thinking once they prosecute all of the ANTIFA and BLM terrorists and the cocaine, heroin, and fentynal has dried up, they might have somewhat of a relevant argument that criminals can't get their hands on guns so we no longer need them to defend ourselves from criminals.

They still won't have the right, but at least they would have something of an argument.

Right now they don't have either an argument or the right.
